New York, February 5th, 2008 – The M·A·C AIDS Fund, the charitable arm of M·A·C Cosmetics, announces Fergie as the newest spokesperson for the M·A·C VIVA GLAM VI campaign. The three-time Grammy Award-winning artist will represent a new limited edition VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass and act as a voice for the M·A·C AIDS Fund’s Global Youth Prevention Initiative. All proceeds from the sale of the new lipglass will be directed to the initiative, which in turn will fund global organizations addressing the AIDS crisis in young people.

An estimated 5 million dollars is expected to be raised, and the initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the M·A·C VIVA GLAM campaigns and the M·A·C AIDS Fund to fight HIV/AIDS around the globe. Fergie joins current VIVA GLAM spokespeople, Eve and Dita von Teese. The new VIVA GLAM Lipglass will be available at all M·A·C locations in March 2008.

“I have followed the VIVA GLAM campaigns since they began with RuPaul, so I am honoured to be able to continue on the tradition. I want to empower young people to know that responsibility is glamorous. There needs to be more AIDS education and prevention programs available to youth as they are at the most risk for HIV/AIDS, and I hope that my new VIVA GLAM Lipglass will help to raise funds and awareness for this important issue.”
Fergie, M·A·C VIVA GLAM VI Spokesperson

“Fergie is a role model to young people around the world. Her passion and personal commitment to empowering youth make her the perfect spokesperson for the VIVA GLAM VI campaign and the Global Youth Prevention Initiative. She is the first spokesperson in the history of the Fund to have a limited edition lipglass that will raise money for one specific demographic. Young people are increasingly hard hit by the AIDS epidemic. Half of all new infections in the U.S. are among youth 25 years of age and younger.”
John Demsey, Chairman of the M·A·C AIDS Fund, Global President of M·A·C Cosmetics.

The new M·A·C VIVA GLAM VI campaign featuring Fergie was created by M·A·C Senior Vice President/Creative Director James Gager, and shot by photographer, Michael Thompson. In Spring 2008, the campaign will launch with a special edition shade of the VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass in a soft pink-tinged mauve (suggested retail price $14.00 U.S./$16.50 CDN).

ABOUT THE M·A·C AIDS FUND
The M·A·C AIDS Fund, the heart and soul of M·A·C Cosmetics, was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. M·A·F is a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding, providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in the arena, M·A·F strives to raise awareness of four key issues in the fight against HIV/AIDS: prevention, the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS, access to care, and adherence to medications and treatments. To date M·A·F has raised over $100 million (U.S.) exclusively through the sale of M·A·C’s VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass, donating 100 per cent of the sale price to fight HIV/AIDS.
