The M∙A∙C AIDS Fund (MAF) will support IDOL GIVES BACK with a $1 million gift that will benefit The Global Fund and support MAF’s continued focus on the fight against HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean. In honor of M∙A∙C Cosmetics’ newest Viva Glam VI spokesperson, Fergie, and her performance on the IDOL GIVES BACK broadcast, the M∙A∙C AIDS Fund expresses its support of the Idol Gives Back Foundation, and The Global Fund, through its largest one-time grant to a single HIV/AIDS focused organization to date.

“We at MAF are thrilled to support IDOL GIVES BACK. This $1 million gift comes from the sale of our M∙A∙C VIVA GLAM lipsticks and lipglasses – this is a gift from our customers.  It is a privilege to be part of  IDOL GIVES BACK, which offers talented performers a platform through which they can raise further awareness about the global HIV/AIDS crisis,” said John Demsey, Chairman, M∙A∙C AIDS Fund, Global President, The Estée Lauder Companies.

Along with The Global Fund, IDOL GIVES BACK, the historic Emmy Award-winning television event and music celebration, will raise awareness and funds to benefit various charities including: Children’s Defense Fund, The Children’s Health Fund, Make It Right, Malaria No More, and Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. The star-studded, one-of-a-kind charity special airs tonight (7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The M∙A∙C AIDS Fund, the heart and soul of M∙A∙C Cosmetics, was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. M∙A∙F is a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding, providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations. As the largest corporate non-pharmaceutical giver in the arena, M∙A∙F strives to raise awareness of four key issues in the fight against HIV/AIDS: prevention, the link between poverty and HIV/AIDS, access to care, and adherence to medications and treatments. To date, M∙A∙F has raised $115 million (U.S.) exclusively through the sale of M∙A∙C’s VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass, donating 100 per cent of the sale price to fight HIV/AIDS.
