| Donation details: |
 |
Friends of the Global Fund, Japan - $100,000 (USD)
With this donation, the FGFJ will encourage a larger Japanese financial commitment to the Global Fund and more
substantive contributions to the fight against HIV/AIDS both internally, regionally, and globally.
It is anticipated that success in this area will have a multiplier effect by also encouraging other countries to
raise their own levels of funding for the Global Fund and other mechanisms for fighting HIV/AIDS. The M·A·C AIDS
Fund donation will target FGFJ programs including with the Partnership Forum of the Global Fund in Durban, South
Africa; medical program outreach, including testing, in Southeast Asia; and political and financial
advocacy throughout the entire region. |

Staying Alive Foundation - MTV International - $25,000 (USD)
MTV-Japan's campaign "Think Loud" will use these funds to conduct a nation-wide contest to produce original
television PSAs (Public Service Announcements) about HIV/AIDS and youth. The objective of this project is to
expand awareness of HIV prevention, stigma and discrimination based on sero-status, and general awareness of
AIDS among Japanese youth. This project will accomplish that through both the competition and the resulting
PSAs. MTV will solicit proposals from Japan's youth for PSAs that raise awareness about HIV prevention and
transmission among MTV's target audience (youth aged 15-25). Other topics that will be considered are:
HIV testing, stigma and discrimination based on sero-status, and psycho-social issues affecting Japanese
youth who are most vulnerable to HIV infection. A panel of expert and celebrity judges (to be determined)
will be convened to select as many as five winning PSAs. The award winners will be announced and the PSAs
will be aired on MTV on and around 1 December, World AIDS Day. |
 |
