Canadian Musicians, Singers, Models, Designers and Dancers Come Together to Bring the Symbolic Red AIDS Ribbon to Life
Toronto - July 25, 2006 - M·A·C Viva Glam, the fundraising lipstick for the M·A·C AIDS Fund, will pay tribute to the fight against AIDS at the International AIDS Conference opening session in Toronto on August 13, 2006. Fifty of the fashion world's top designers donated couture gowns in vibrant red that were exclusively designed for M·A·C to help raise awareness for the fight against HIV/AIDS. The Canadian Arts community comes together to create a dramatic on-stage formation of what has become the symbol of hope in the fight against AIDS - the red AIDS Ribbon - which will be formed by 50 models wearing the couture gowns. The formation will be witnessed by 40,000 attendees set to a performance by Canadian Soprano Measha Brueggergosman, and accompanied by members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and National Ballet of Canada creating a poignant and emotional finale to the opening session.
