| New York, February 11, 2004 - The M·A·C AIDS Fund,
the charitable arm of M·A·C, the rule-breaking professional cosmetics company,
named Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Linda Evangelista, Chloë
Sevigny, and Boy George as the latest spokespeople for the new VIVA GLAM V Lipstick and Lipglass, the primary fund-raising
tools for the M·A·C AIDS Fund. This year the M·A·C AIDS Fund—which has raised
more than $32 million—marks its 10th year fighting against HIV/AIDS and providing vital support to men, women and
children living with the disease. |
 |
| The VIVA GLAM V fund-raising drive launches with the unveiling of a closely
guarded advertising campaign designed by
M·A·C in-house creative department and shot by renowned fashion/beauty photographer Michael Thompson.
Each of the five celebrities are dressed in a VIVA GLAM V T-shirt designed by M·A·C exclusively for the shoot.
By early March 2004, the neutral pink with pearl lipglass ($13.50 US / $16.00 CDN) and the luster lipstick ($14.00 US / $16.00 CDN)
will hit M·A·C's 750 locations around the world, with 100 percent of the sales directly benefiting
the M·A·C AIDS Fund. |
 |
| The new ad campaign showcases a diverse collection
of internationally acclaimed superstars: Grammy Award-winning artists
Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott; the original supermodel, Linda Evangelista; academy award-nominated actress, Chloë
Sevigny; and pop icon, Boy George. These global icons exemplify the M·A·C motto—all ages, all races,
all sexes—and communicate the VIVA GLAM message within their respective fields worldwide. |
 |
| "This is a meaningful year for the
M·A·C AIDS Fund" said John Demsey, president of M·A·C.
"In addition to our 10th anniversary and the fact that we have raised more than $32 million, we are thrilled to present five
new faces for the Viva Glam V campaign. As AIDS—the greatest pandemic of our times—affects all areas of
the arts, it is important that we continue to find icons who speak to world-wide demographics, not just a M·A·C
audience. Carefully chosen from fashion, music, theatre and film, each spokesperson holds international acclaim, is morally responsible
and has shown a true dedication to supporting the M·A·C AIDS Fund and spreading the VIVA GLAM message across the globe." |

The M·A·C AIDS Fund
The M·A·C AIDS Fund provides vital support to men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS. Founded in
1994 by M·A·C Cosmetics, the fund has raised more than $32 million through the sales of the VIVA GLAM lipstick
collection, Kids Helping Kids Cards and the M·A·C Book of Cards. The proceeds are distributed to organizations
worldwide that serve those afflicted with HIV/AIDS, by funding HIV/AIDS education, awareness and prevention programs and
supporting the elimination of prejudice and discrimination against HIV/AIDS-affected individuals. 100% of the selling price of
Viva Glam goes to the M·A·C AIDS Fund and are directed to local and geographic regions where the need
for HIV-related care and services is greatest. For more information about the M·A·C AIDS Fund, log on to
