In December 2006, the M·A·C AIDS Fund announced an initiative addressing HIV-prevention and awarded $2.4 million to 11 organizations. Why the M·A·C AIDS Fund? The M·A·C AIDS Fund has supported efforts to prevent HIV transmission as well as services to help those living with the illness live comfortable and healthy lives for the past 13 years. Through this initiative, the M·A·C AIDS Fund has magnified its focus on prevention so as to spotlight the dire need for new funding and innovative programs in this area. In addition to these grants totaling almost $2.4 million, we are committed to giving away another $4 million to support HIV prevention programs across the world.
