In 2007, the M·A·C AIDS Fund launched its Caribbean Initiative in an effort to improve care and treatment for HIV infected persons and to draw attention to the large epidemic and need in this region.  More information about grants made as a part of this initiative can be found here.  Outside of this specific initiative, MAF has made a number of grants in support of programs in this area of the world.

Global Fund for Women
The Global Fund for Woman (GFW) supports women’s organizations in building effective strategies to promote gender equality, reduce violence and poverty and advance global health. As women in certain regions are limited in their ability to negotiate for safer sex, access contraceptives, and/or control their own decisions about sexual relations, GFW provides funding to women-led community based initiatives that work on prevention for women and girls. This grant focuses on initiatives in Latin American and the Caribbean.
