Les enfants de Bethanie (LEDB), Montreal, QC
To support the opening of a hospice for children and parents living with HIV/AIDS. Since LEDB is the only organization in Québec that supports children touched by HIV/AIDS, the families that they support do not have a place for themselves in existing hospices because those facilities are directed mainly towards adults living alone. As there are no similar programs in Québec, and as 100% of funding will go directly to the new project.

Ontario AIDS Network (OAN), Toronto, ON
To support the Positive Support Fund where resources are distributed through 15 locations throughout Ontario to clients who are in greatest need of emergency financial assistance for necessities such as food, medicine, shelter, transportation, optical and dental care. By providing timely emergency assistance to people with HIV/AIDS, the Ontario AIDS Network, in partnership with 47 local member agencies, offers help at a critical moment that can make the difference between poverty and self-sufficiency.

Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada, Ottawa, ON
To raise awareness and prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS in remote Northern Inuit communities of Canada through the Arctic Youth Community Fair Prevention Program. Since there are very little or no other HIV/AIDS-specific education programs in Inuit communities, Pauktuutit’s Community HIV/AIDS Fairs in the fifty-one communities located in the far north can be the only HIV/AIDS education these communities receive.

Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR), Toronto, ON
To support the ‘Have a Heart’ Program, Canada’s only national school-based HIV/AIDS awareness program targeting youth. The program promotes youth volunteerism and leadership skills and provides an opportunity for students and teachers to engage in an open dialogue around HIV/AIDS with measurable goals and fundraising objectives to coincide with the awareness program.
