AID Upstate, Greenville, SC
To support a targeted outreach program focused on African American men and women in the four county Greenville area.  It will have two components: 1) a program to connect individuals in the community who are HIV positive but not yet in treatment with appropriate treatment resources and, 2) an education and rapid testing program for inmates of the Greenville County Detention Center.  As in other parts of the country, African Americans in this region are disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS, representing 15% of the population, but 55% of new infections.

AIDS Research and Treatment Center of the Treasure Coast (ARTCTC), Fort Pierce, FL
To provide group medical appointments for patients focused on patient-based outreach, as well as HIV testing and prevention. The communities served by the ARTCTC clinic include Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee counties.  The patient population is predominately African-American, of lower socio-economic status, and medically underserved. As Fort Pierce, FL has one of the highest rates of HIV infection in the United States and the highest rate of HIV infection in African-Americans in the State of Florida.

Chatham Social Health Council, Pittsboro, NC
To help underwrite prevention and testing referral services for high-risk individuals in Chatham County, a largely rural area (700 square mile) in the center of North Carolina.  The Chatham Social Health Council is the only organization in the county focused exclusively on HIV/AIDS prevention - $10,000
